A Low Budget Vacation

Want to take a vacation? Low budget prevents it? No time? All these dilemmas can be solved.

We live in an area where everyone can reach out and feel they had a vacation inexpensively.

I met some friends for lunch at the Finz Restaurant located in Salem at Pickering Wharf. We were seated on the outside deck. The boats were docked, the weather was warm and sunny.

I felt like I was on vacation as I enjoyed the delicious food and interesting conversation.

It is all about attitude that uplifted my spirits. Get out, enjoy our location and just be grateful for our beautiful scenery here on the North Shore and enjoy the seasons. I came home rejuvenated like I had been on vacation and you can do the same.

"The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams." - Eleanor Roosevelt

Thank you to all of Millie Garfield's (My Mom's Blog) readers who have traveled to this page and shared your supportive and encouraging comments. This is my first experience with blogging (thanks to Millie!) and I have been impressed by the sense of community.

This community blog was created during Millie's presentation at Summit (My Mom's Blog, September 1, 2006 post) as a way of demonstrating to everyone how easy it is to start--we were all learning together.

Though the hope was that it would become another way for the community at Summit to connect, it was unclear at first what would happen.... Who would dare to try it?! But rest assured--the seed planted on that Tuesday afternoon, in that very crowded room, among the attentive audience, is taking root. There is talk of others joining in--so stay tuned!

NORC Ends But Let the Blogging Begin at Summit!

Thanks to Millie of http://mymomsblog.blogspot.com many of us have learned a lot about blogging. During her standing-room only, entertaining overview of blogging Millie also took us through the process of setting up this blog, during the last week of the NORC program. Hopefully this will be the start of a blogging community at Summit.

I am including just a few of the photos from our final event which also took place last week.

It's been a pleasure for me to work with all of you--thanks for your participation, your enthusiasm and your ideas. Stay tuned for news of new programs as they develop.
